1 My soul, praise the Lord.
1 PRAISE the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.
2 I will praise YHWH while I live; I will sing praises unto my God while I have my being.
2 While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.
2 Praise the Lord, O my soul. I will praise the Lord with my life. I will sing psalms to my God as long as I shall be. Do not trust in the leaders,
3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
3 Trust not in princes, nor in the children of men, in whom there is no safety.
3 in the sons of men, in whom there is no salvation.
4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his dust; in that very day his thoughts perish.
4 His breath shall go forth, and he shall return to his earth; in that day all his thoughts shall perish.
4 His spirit will depart, and he will return to his earth. In that day, all their thoughts will perish.
5 Happy is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in YHWH his God,

6 Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is; who keepeth truth for ever;
7 Who executeth justice for the oppressed; who giveth bread to the hungry. YHWH looseth the prisoners;
7 who executes judgement for the wronged: who gives food to the hungry. The Lord looses the fettered ones
7 He preserves the truth forever. He executes judgment for those who suffer injury. He provides food for the hungry. The Lord releases those who are bound.
8 YHWH openeth the eyes of the blind; YHWH raiseth up them that are bowed down; the YHWH loveth the righteous;
8 the Lord gives wisdom to the blind: The Lord sets up the broken down: the Lord loves the righteous: the Lord preserves the strangers;
8 The Lord enlightens the blind. The Lord sets upright those who have been thrown down. The Lord loves the just.
9 YHWH preserveth the strangers; He upholdeth the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked He maketh crooked.
9 he will relieve the orphan and widow: but will utterly remove the way of sinners.
9 The Lord watches over new arrivals. He will support the orphan and the widow. And he will destroy the ways of sinners.
10 YHWH will reign for ever, Thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Hallelujah.
10 The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Sion, to all generations.
147:1 Hallelujah; for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is comely.
1 Alleluia, a Psalm of Aggaeus and Zacharias. Praise ye the Lord: for psalmody is a good thing; let praise be sweetly sung to our God.
1 Alleluia. Praise the Lord, because the psalm is good. Delightful and beautiful praise shall be for our God.
147:2 YHWH doth build up Jerusalem, He gathereth together the dispersed of Israel;
2 The Lord builds up Jerusalem; and he will gather together the dispersed of Israel.
147:3 Who healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
3 He heals the contrite of heart, and he binds up their sorrows.
147:4 He counteth the number of the stars; He giveth them all their names.
4 He numbers the multitudes of stars; and calls them all by names.
4 He counts the number of the stars; he calls them all by their names.
147:5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.
147:6 YHWH upholdeth the humble; He bringeth the wicked down to the ground.
6 The Lord lifts up the meek; but brings sinners down to the ground.
147:7 Sing unto YHWH with thanksgiving, sing praises upon the harp unto our God;
7 Begin the song with thanksgiving to the Lord; sing praises on the harp to our God
7 Sing before the Lord with confession. Play psalms to our God on a stringed instrument.
147:8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh the mountains to spring with grass.
8 who covers the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who causes grass to spring up on the mountains, and green herb for the service of men;
147:9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
9 and gives cattle their food, and to the young ravens that call upon him.

147:10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse; He taketh no pleasure in the legs of a man.
10 He will not take pleasure in the strength of a horse; neither is he well-pleased with the legs of a man.
10 He will not have good will for the strength of the horse, nor will he be well pleased with the legs of a man.
147:11 YHWH taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that wait for His mercy.
11 The Lord takes pleasure in them that fear him, and in all that hope in his mercy.
11 The Lord is well pleased with those who fear him and with those who hope in his mercy.
147:12 Glorify YHWH, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

12 Alleluia. Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem. Praise your God, O Zion.
147:13 For He hath made strong the bars of thy gates; He hath blessed thy children within thee.
13 For he has reinforced the bars of your gates. He has blessed your sons within you.
147:14 He maketh thy borders peace; He giveth thee in plenty the fat of wheat.
14 He makes thy borders peaceful, and fills thee with the flour of wheat.
14 He has stationed peace at your borders, and he has satisfied you with the fat of the grain.
147:15 He sendeth out His commandment upon earth; His word runneth very swiftly.
15 He sends his oracle to the earth: his word will run swiftly.
147:16 He giveth snow like wool; He scattereth the hoar-frost like ashes.
16 He gives snow like wool: he scatters the mist like ashes.
16 He provides snow like wool. He strews clouds like ashes.
147:17 He casteth forth His ice like crumbs; who can stand before His cold?
17 Casting forth his ice like morsels: who shall stand before his cold?
17 He sends his ice crystals like morsels. Who can stand firm before the face of his cold?
147:18 He sendeth forth His word, and melteth them; He causeth His wind to blow, and the waters flow.
18 He shall send out his word, and melt them: he shall blow with his wind, and the waters shall flow.
18 He will send forth his word, and it will melt them. His Spirit will breathe out, and the waters will flow.
147:19 He declareth His word unto Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances unto Israel.
19 He sends his word to Jacob, his ordinances and judgements to Israel.
147:20 He hath not dealt so with any nation; and as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Hallelujah.
20 He has not done so to any other nation; and he has not shewn them his judgements.
20 He has not dealt so with all nations; and his judgments he has not made known to them. Praise the LORD.
148:1 Hallelujah. Praise ye YHWH from the heavens; praise Him in the heights.

148:2 Praise ye Him, all His angels; praise ye Him, all His hosts.
148:3 Praise ye Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all ye stars of light.
148:4 Praise Him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that are above the heavens.
148:5 Let them praise the name of YHWH; for He commanded, and they were created.
5 praise the name of the Lord. For he spoke, and they became. He commanded, and they were created.
148:6 He hath also established them for ever and ever; He hath made a decree which shall not be transgressed.
6 He has established them for ever, even for ever and ever: he has made an ordinance, and it shall not pass away.
6 He has stationed them in eternity, and for age after age. He has established a precept, and it will not pass away.
148:7 Praise YHWH from the earth, ye sea-monsters, and all deeps;
7 Praise the Lord from the earth, ye serpents, and all deeps.
148:8 Fire and hail, snow and vapour, stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
8 Fire, hail, snow, ice, stormy wind; the things that perform his word.
148:9 Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees and all cedars;
148:10 Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and winged fowl;
10 wild beasts, and all cattle; reptiles, and winged birds
148:11 Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all judges of the earth;
148:12 Both young men and maidens, old men and children;
12 young men and virgins, old men with youths
12 Both boys and maidens, old men and young men, let them praise the name of the LORD;
148:13 Let them praise the name of YHWH, for His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven.
13 For his name alone is exalted.
148:14 And He hath lifted up a horn for His people, a praise for all His saints, even for the children of Israel, a people near unto Him. Hallelujah.
14 Confession of him is beyond heaven and earth, and he has exalted the horn of his people. A hymn to all his holy ones, to the sons of Israel, to a people close to him. Alleluia.
14 He also exalts the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near to him. Praise the LORD.
149:1 Hallelujah. Sing unto YHWH a new song, and His praise in the assembly of the saints.
1 Alleluia. Sing to the Lord a new song: his praise is in the assembly of the saints.
1 PRAISE the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
149:2 Let Israel rejoice in his Maker; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
149:3 Let them praise His name in the dance; let them sing praises unto Him with the timbrel and harp.
149:4 For YHWH taketh pleasure in His people; He adorneth the humble with salvation.
4 For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; and will exalt the meek with salvation.
149:5 Let the saints exult in glory; let them sing for joy upon their beds.
5 The saints shall rejoice in glory; and shall exult on their beds.
5 Let the righteous become mighty in glory; let them glorify him upon their beds.
149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
6 The exultations of God will be in their throat, and two-edged swords will be in their hands
6 Let them exalt God with their throats, and with a two-edged sword in their hand,
149:7 To execute vengeance upon the nations, and chastisements upon the peoples;
7 to obtain vindication among the nations, chastisements among the peoples,
149:8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
149:9 To execute upon them the judgment written; He is the glory of all His saints. Hallelujah.
9 to obtain judgment over them, as it has been written. This is glory for all his saints. Alleluia.
150:1 Hallelujah. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power.

150:2 Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to His abundant greatness.
150:3 Praise Him with the blast of the horn; praise Him with the psaltery and harp.
150:4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; praise Him with stringed instruments and the pipe.
4 Praise him with timbrel and choir. Praise him with strings and organ.
150:5 Praise Him with the loud-sounding cymbals; praise Him with the clanging cymbals.
5 Praise him upon loud cymbals; praise him with a mighty song.
150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise YHWH. Hallelujah.
6 Let every spirit praise the Lord. Alleluia.
